Have a great summer everyone!!! Whooooooooooooooooooo!
Oh, hell, I love Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros.
Untitled: Privacy Regarding Social Networks →
With the advancements and rapid growth of technology, more people are becoming concerned with what should be considered private on the internet. It seems as though the younger generation who have been raised with the internet at hand, is less likely to be concerned with what information they…

The Wonders of Technology: Advancing Human Stupidity
Technology is an amazing thing. From black and white to HDTVs, from landlines to smart phones, and from microscopes to atom smashers, technology is advancing in a way that…
Interesting! My agriculture professor from last semester told us he used to assign students to research how many...
Untitled: Recycling: Friend, Foe, or Switzerland? →
“Recycle” has become somewhat of a buzzword in our society. Movements have moved, political platforms have been formed, and debates have debated; all over the necessity of recycling. The fairly recent societal focus on a “greener”, more environmentally friendly solution has made itself…
Whooo! I love recycling! Haha, and I thought my mom was the only other person to wash and reuse...

I am not a particularly angry individual. By nature, I am a rational, level headed, moderately spoiled creature who rarely has cause to complain. However, this year, a particularly large construction project in the middle of campus has caught my ire. Thanks to the Class of 1960, Clemson University…

LDRs
Long distance relationships, known as LDRs in the internet community. Negative connotations are always associated with long distance relationships, even more that the casual “fun” buddy relationships—you know the one that only comes over late at night, most likely drunk, to have sex. The majority of people, i.e. everyone who is not or has not been in a (successful) long distance...
: Disney Princesses: The Wrong Role Models →
Almost every little girl has been exposed to so sort of Disney princess movie within her lifetime, usually starting at a very young age. The most popular of these tend to be, Cinderella, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, and Pocahontas. The one thing…
This makes me think of Brat dolls and the problem with Barbie, too. But when I see my nieces...

Sexy means loving someone you don’t know.
For those of you who like Jhumpa Lahiri’s work or you aren’t familiar with her read her short story “Sexy.” It is really good :)
I had her old desk at BU. Papers she had graded were in it. Should have grabbed them and sold on E-Bay.
Since The Namesake was made into a movie you could possibly have gotten a pretty penny!

Race, sex, and Nike.
I find this somewhat interesting but at the same time not. This guy is trying to relate two different things, like apples and oranges, from Tiger’s father’s death to his own father’s death. So unless his father was a “sex addicted” cheater as well as an 8 time Master’s winning professional golfer, then his context really...

Interesting music finder. Type in an artist you like and it tells you who else you might like. The only thing is, when I did it I already had music by the recommended artists.
CE2: George Cooke
Jill McDonough gives a slight biographical account of the crime and punishment in each of her poems. “December 12, 1884: George Cooke” involved a young man who drunkenly murdered his sister’s husband. Cooke had not liked the man, James Blunt, when sober and after an argument he had promised to shoot Blunt the next time they came across each other. He killed Blunt soon after. A year...

For all you runners!! →
A fun hobby of mine, running while photographing. Of course, I don’t run for six miles in and back out. Six in, then a leisurely walk around. Also, every Clemson student should be aware of the beauty of the Experimental Forest. It’s our backyard :)

Snow?
Hmmm, are we really going to get the white flakes or just cold, nasty droplets of rain?

Who knows where we can get a blue book? Library? I have to get one before class tomorrow.
The library, on the fourth floor and Hendrix. They cost like $.65, too.

Cultural: of or pertaining to culture
Culture: (n) The predominating attitudes and behavior that characterize the functioning of a group or organization
I chose the definition of culture as seen above after attending my first sorority rush at Clemson University. I have always known that I am not cut out to be the “typical” sorority girl, always peppy and happy, always made-up,...

I’m sure many of you don’t know very well, but if we ever get the chance to know each other, you find out that I am a country girl, who happens to enjoy English. I know that I shouldn’t be acceptable to stereotypes, but there is no avoiding being pinned with the country girl title for me. That’s me, I live to ride and take care of my horses, I love rodeos, and western films. One of...
Aloo Mat-What? and Banging Bertha?
I suppose there can be varying definitions of cultural events to attend, and I would say that I did not “attend” a cultural event-it just happened. I have been friends with Kedar Gujar since I have been a student at Clemson. We met fall semester of my freshmen year through the Clemson International Language Partner (CLLP) program. We hit it off and became close friends. This past weekend Kedar...

The Times to Charge for Frequent Access to Its Web... →
How unfortunate! Online access to the New York Times is how I know anything going on in the world around me, to be charged after a certain amount of articles will be devastating. And modeling the plan after The Financial Times?? They only allow 10 free articles. However, the price has not been announced, so perhaps it will be relatively affordable for a poor college student.
